The Electronic Sports World Cup was created in 2003. From its first editions at Futuroscope, the World Cup has federated thousands of video game tournaments on the 5 continents. In 2005 at the Louvre of Paris, then at Paris Bercy in 2006, the event has become a reference for the organization of video game competitions and live match showcases. In 2008, the Grand Final was organized in San José, California. Since 2011, the ESWC Finals thrilled the Paris Games Week with 5 days of shows staged in front of 250,000 spectators and an Internet audience of millions.
