Minnesota RØKKR is the official Call of Duty League franchise team of Minnesota, United States. It is owned and operated by WISE Ventures, LLC. The team's main rival is Toronto Ultra, who they play in the "Battle of the North".

Modern Warfare[edit]

Minnesota was revealed as a franchise in the second set of team announcements on July 1, 2019. On September 20, Assault, GodRx, and SiLLY joined as the team's first three player signings along with Saintt joining as head coach and general manager. Alexx was announced as the team's fourth on October 10. 2 weeks later, Asim joined, finalising the starting roster, REPPIN joined as assistant coach and analyst, and Exceed and TTinyy joined as substitutes. On October 29, the team branding was revealed as the Minnesota RØKKR.

The RØKKR entered Launch Weekend as a middle of the pack team but number one to their fans in Minnesota, where the first ever Call of Duty League event was taking place. They put on a show in front of the home crowd by beating Los Angeles Guerrillas in dramatic fashion (winning map two by forfeit) and taking down Toronto Ultra in the Battle of the North. In Week 3, the RØKKR made their first possible semifinal appearance, despite only beating the Paris Legion two times in the group stage. Atlanta defeated them. Similar to the previous week, Minnesota beat the Seattle Surge twice and then faced off against Atlanta FaZe again in the semifinal of Week 4. This time they defeated FaZe but lost 3-2 to Dallas in the final. After an extended break due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the RØKKR made another grand final appearance in Week 5 where they once again lost, this time 1-3 to the Florida Mutineers. Week 7 would be one to forget. After getting revenge on Florida Mutineers, they lost six of the next seven maps to Toronto Ultra and New York Subliners, two teams who had yet to make a semifinal appearance, to get knocked out in the group stage for the first time in the season. With Dallas and Atlanta not attending in Week 8, the RØKKR had a great opportunity to catch up in the standings for the final stretch of events. They beat OpTic Gaming Los Angeles 3-2 but then fell 3-0 to Chicago Huntsmen. In a rematch against OpTic, RØKKR fell 3-0 and failed to exit the group stage for the second time in a row. They entered their Home Series in poor form and it continued to due unfortunate circumstances. After dropping a .58 K/D on Friday, it was revealed on Saturday that Alexx was playing with pain in his right thumb. Exceed moved into the starting lineup to replace him. The team lost 3-1 to Dallas and were reverse swept by Seattle to go out in last place in their own home series. Alexx returned to his place in the starting lineup by Week 11 but team continued to struggle and placed last again.

Meaning In Old Norse dialects, “røkkr” translates as “twilight,” the moment between day and night when the last light fades beyond the horizon. Røkkr is commonly associated with Ragnarøkkr (Ragnarok), the end of the world or “Twilight of the Gods” in Norse mythology.
Minnesota Røkkr: Our Story
Inspired by these legends, our modern day Røkkr is a team of chosen warriors forged in the fierce climate of the true North. As darkness falls, the Minnesota Røkkr emerge. By morning they are the last ones standing.

As with the mythical heroes who battled fate itself, the Minnesota Røkkr must unite all allies — the best players in the world, the fans who wear the colors, and the community they represent.
