Anthony "NAMELESS" Wheeler is a former Call of Duty player. He is currently an Analyst for the Call of Duty World League. He is well-known for his time spent on teams such as UNiTE Gaming, Team EnVyUs, and Evil Geniuses and his 2nd place finish at the Call of Duty Championship 2014.

Biography[]

Nameless (stylised NAMELESS) is a veteran Call of Duty player who has been playing the series since Call of Duty 2 when it came with his Xbox 360. Nameless first got into competitive gaming through GameBattles during Call of Duty 2 on the team ladder. Nameless has been around for every professional event for Call of Duty and has always wanted to be the best whether GameBattles team ladder or MLG events.

Black Ops 2[]

After Black Ops 2 came out, Nameless found himself bouncing around teams. It wasn't until after he joined UNiTE Gaming that he started gaining recognition for being a top tier player. The first tournament he played under his new organisation UNiTE Gaming, was MLG Anaheim. They managed an impressive 5th place, considering the amount of highly skilled players and teams also attending the event. At MLG PAX Prime Invitational, Nameless won his first championship. They took out the best team at the time, compLexity. After that event, UNiTE found themselves in disappointing 6th and 8th finishes. They took home 3rd at MLG Fall Invitational.

Ghosts[]

When Ghosts came out, Nameless was recruited by Curse LV. Playing alongside Ricky, Parasite and KiLLa at UMG Philadelphia, they achieved 3rd place. Then after the event, a plethora of roster changes had occurred. Nameless found himself on EnVyUs. For numerous events the team consistently placed in the top 5, including a number of 2nd place finishes. Then finally at Gfinity 3, EnVyUs took home a championship in convincing fashion. With the roster consisting of Nameless, MerK, FormaL and JKap, EnVy looked extremely dominant at Gfinity 3. With their fans rejoicing that EnVy had finally brought home a championship, they were confident predicting that they would do the same at UMG Dallas. EnVy managed to make it into the finals before being upset by the underdogs Denial, EnVyUs taking 2nd. Nameless and the rest of the EnVy squad would finish out the Ghost season with a first place finish at the Season 3 Playoffs and a disappointing 8th place finish at ESWC 2014.

Advanced Warfare[]

After a very strong start in the first two weeks of Advanced Warfare Nameless and Team EnVy would realize that they were no longer the best of the best. After multiple disappointing placings and a 9th-12th placing at the Call of Duty Championship 2015, Team EnVy would succumb to Rostermania. After 15 events with Team EnVy, Nameless would find himself alongside Sharp, Goonjar, and Parasite on the new Team Kaliber roster. Team Kaliber edged out a 8th place finish in Season 2 of the MLG Pro League. Then they would go on to surprise everyone by taking down the Call of Duty World Champions Denial eSports 4-1 then finish 4th at the Season 2 Playoffs. Nameless remained with tK for the Season 3 of the league, and the playoffs, where they placed 9-12th. Following this disappointing end to the season, Nameless spent a short time with OpTic Nation, attending the MLG World Finals 2015 with MBoZe, Ricky and MiRx. Nameless' poor end to the season continued, placing 9-12th at the event also.

Black Ops 3[]

Going into the Black Ops 3 season, Nameless remained teaming with Ricky and MiRx, and picked up Parasite, to play under compLexity. The team faired well, but didn't manage to win an event after 6 months teaming together, playing their final event as a team at the 2016 NA CWL Stage 1 Playoffs, finishing 5-8th. Given the mediocre results, Nameless moved teams to join StuDyy, Saints and SpaceLy at Luminosity Gaming. This squad performed slightly better than the coL team, but also failed to win an event. They placed 3-4th at the 2016 NA CWL Stage 2 Playoffs, and 5-6th at the last events before champs, MLG Orlando Open 2016. At the 2016 Call of Duty World League Championship, the team played well, finishing in the top 2 of their group to advance to the winners bracket. They beat Team Allegiance in the first round of winners, but were ultimately beaten out in a close match with Rise Nation in round 2. Although losing 3-0, the map scores in the Hardpoint (214-250) and the Search and Destroy (4-6), were heartbreakingly close for Nameless and the LG squad.

Infinite Warfare[]

With Evil Geniuses returning to Call of Duty after 3 years out of the eSport, an opportunity arose for Nameless. Alongside StuDyy, Havok from compLexity, and Nagafen from Elevate joined the returning organisation. The team had moderate placings at the first events of the year, placing top 8 at both the 2017 CWL Las Vegas Open and the 2017 CWL Paris Open, as well as a disappointing 17-20th placing at CWL Atlanta. However Nameless and the squad had shown promise in a number of matches against top opposition, and their patience paid off at CWL Dallas, where they managed to qualify for Stage 1 of the LAN league, by beating out their closest competition for the final spot, GosuCrew. The team fell in the next round to Red Reserve EU, but qualification for the league was the ultimate goal for Nameless and his teammates.

The team surprised many by topping their group during the regular season, but failed to perform at Playoffs, where they bombed out in 7-8th with losses to Splyce and eUnited. The team replaced StuDyy with Parasite, and saw a small improvement, placing top 6 at the next event, CWL Anaheim. However the team failed to make playoffs for the second stage of the Global Pro League. Still assured a spot at the World Championship, it was NAMELESS' and EG's last chance to redeem what had been a poor Infinite Warfare season overall. However the team performed dismally, losing all their pool play matches - even in what many believed a relatively easy group. Placing top 32, it was NAMELESS' lowest ever placing at a major event.

NAMELESS was the only player to remain with the Evil Geniuses organization after the conclusion of the season, and he recruited Apathy from Team Envy, Enable from FaZe Clan and ACHES from Cloud9.

WWII[]

NAMELESS and the new Evil Geniuses roster began the WWII season in decent form, placing consistently inside the top 16 in the weekly online CWL 2K tournaments - enough to earn them a spot in pool play for the first event of the season, CWL Dallas. EG performed fairly well in their pool, beating Splyce and Ghost Gaming, but losses to FaZe Clan and eUnited meant they would play through the losers bracket. Early on the Saturday, the team played their first losers bracket match against Australian team Mindfreak, and lost were reverse swept in a shock 2-3 defeat.

Now in a bad position in pro points, the team needed to out place other teams on the cusp of qualification for Stage 1 of the Pro League at the upcoming CWL New Orleans. Evil Geniuses made a miraculous run through the open bracket, making it into pool play where they finished 2nd. They fell in the winners bracket, but needed only one win in losers, against DooM Clan, to secure their place at the league. They defeated DooM 3-1, meaning they narrowly qualified. The team which just missed out, Enigma6, claimed that Evil Geniuses had "stolen" their league spot, by getting pro points from fake GameBattles matches.[21] Enigma6 player Censor had been deducted pro points, and felt EG should be also. Nothing came of the accusations and EG played in the league.

Evil Geniuses began fairly well in the Pro League, but on the very last week, lost every one of their remaining matches, and bombed out in to 7th spot in the division, and being relegated. During this time the team also attended CWL Atlanta and CWL Birmingham, where they placed 7-8th and 17-20th respectively. With such poor placings, and relegation from the Pro League, many believed a roster change was on the horizon.
