Biography[]

Loony started out gaming back in Call of Duty: 3 and Halo 1, however it wasn't until Modern Warfare 2 that he began to get involved in the competitive scene. He has competed for numerous large organisations such as Team Envy and Team Kaliber however he is most well known for his success on various Rise Nation rosters.

Black Ops 2[]

Loony's first appearance at a LAN event came during the Black Ops 2 season at the MLG Spring Championship 2013 alogside Pacman, Whea7s and Juggster, and they secured a 13/16th finish. His next event was an impressive 6th place finish at UMG Dallas 2013 on Team FeaR alongside Pacman, Whea7s and Moho, however this would be the final time he competed during the Black Ops 2 season.

Ghosts[]

For the beginning of the Ghosts season, Loony competed with FEARS, Pacman and Whea7s and while originally competing under the Livin' the Dream banner, they were soon picked up by newly created organisation Rise Nation. They placed 7th overall at Call of Duty Championships, an impressive result for the new organisation. He then went on to place 13/16th at both UGC Niagara 2014 and UMG Dallas 2014. This was followed up by an impressive 4th place at UMG Nashville 2014 and then a 7/8th finish at the MLG Season 3 Playoffs in his final event of the year.

Advanced Warfare[]

Loony left Rise Nation at the start of the Advanced Warfare season to join Team Kaliber, joining up with long time Team Kaliber members Sharp, Goonjar and Theory. The team saw some success, beginning with a 4th place finish at the Columbus Open and a 7/8th placing at UMG Orlando. Next up was the MLG Pro League Season 1 Playoffs where the roster secured a strong 3rd place finish.

After an 8th place finish at the Call of Duty Championship 2015, Loony left Team Kaliber to join Team EnVyUs, alongside Saints, ProoFy and TeePee. The team debuted at UGC Niagara 2015 and secured an impressive 2nd place finish, losing to Loony's former squad Team Kaliber 3-0 in the Grand Final. This was followed up by a 5/8th finish at the Gfinity Spring Masters and 4th at UMG California.

Loony remained on Team Envy for the remainder of the season, competing alongside a range of teammates and had consistent placings, however no stand out results. His strongest results were 6th at UMG Dallas, 3rd at MES Detroit 25K and 4th at UMG Washington. He rounded out the year competing with JKap, Goonjar and Jurd and secured a strong 4th place finish at the MLG World Finals, losing to eventual runners up Denial Esports in the losers bracket.

Black Ops 3[]

Loony returned to Rise for the release of Black Ops 3. He joined Slacked, Classic and previous teammate Octane. The team started out very strongly, winning their first major event - Totino's Invitational. They followed this up by winning UMG South Carolina.

For the inaugural CWL Stage 1 Regular Season, Loony's squad finished 2nd behind OpTic Gaming, a result which would be repeated at the Stage 1 Playoffs. In the Grand Final, Rise would lose a dramatic series in a Game 7 Round 11 to OpTic Gaming which saw the beginning of a rivalry which would continue throughout the season. This was followed by 3rd place finishes at ESWC 2016 and the MLG Anaheim Open, where they yet again lost to Optic, this time in the winners bracket.

The rest of the year was filled with more underwhelming results as the squad placed 3/4th at the CWL Stage 2 Playoffs after a 4th place in the Regular Season. Next up came the MLG Orlando Open where the squad placed a respectable 5/6th however it fell short of the high standards they had set throughout the season. The final event of the year was the 2016 Call of Duty Championship and the squad closed out the year with another underwhelming 5/6th finish. Many strong teams such as OpTic Gaming and FaZe Clan suffered early exits, so Rise were disappointed not to capitalise on that and make a strong challenge for the title.

Infinite Warfare[]

Loony remained with Rise for Infinite Warfare as captain of the team, and recruited Aqua, Faccento and FeLo after Classic, Octane and Slacked were picked up by Luminosity. The team won the first major event of the year, the CWL Las Vegas Open, but after a string of disappointing results in the online 2K tournaments, the team placed in an unexpectedly poor 9-12th at the next event, the CWL Atlanta Open. They bounced back with a 3rd place finish at the CWL Paris Open. However they continued the trend of inconsistent results with a very disappointing 17/20th finish at the CWL Dallas Open.

After missing out on Playoffs of the Global Pro League Stage 1, Rise secured another average finish, this time placing 9/12th at the CWL Anaheim Open, although they did lose to OpTic Gaming. Given Loony's inconsistent placings, as well as poor individual performances, throughout the year, hopes weren't high heading into the 2017 Call of Duty Championship. However to the shock of many fans, casters and analysts alike, Loony's squad won a tricky pool containing Luminosity and went on a very impressive losers bracket run eliminating the likes of Ghost Gaming and FaZe Clan before Luminosity gained their revenge and eliminated the squad. However, Loony and his team had secured an admirable 4th place finish and $80,000 in prize money.

World War II[]

Heading into the new season, the Rise Nation captain made the decision to drop the experienced Faccento and replace him with young talent TJHaLy, who was renowned for his SnD ability which Loony believed was a weakness during the IW season. After consistent placings in the online 2K tournaments, Loony and his team headed into the CWL Dallas Open and were left disappointed as they secured a 13/16th placing.

The decision was made to drop FeLo and replace him with Methodz with Loony citing problems with chemistry and personality clashes, Aqua was also traded to Echo Fox with Gunless joining Rise Nation. The squad debuted at the CWL New Orleans Open and went on a strong losers bracket run to finish in 3rd place, eliminating the likes of Splyce and Echo Fox. The squad built on this result to finish top of Division A in the CWL Pro League Stage 1 and secured the top seed heading into the Stage 1 Playoffs.

Trivia[]

When Daniel played Halo 1, his neighbor's gamertag was "Lunatik", so he became "Lil Lunatik". When he created his first own personal gamertag, he chose "Lunatik". Since then, people started to call him "Loony" so he changed it.
His favorite moment in his career was when he dropped 48 kills in Hardpoint against compLexity at MLG Dallas.
Daniel's favorite Call of Duty title is Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
Although Loony's individual performances have often failed to stand out from his team mates, he contributes a lot to his rosters with his strong in-game leadership skills.
