Biography[]
Call of Duty 4 and Black Ops[]
Chris "Parasite" Duarte has been playing video games his entire life, he first started playing competitively in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, competing on the online pro circuit events. Parasite really started to show his skills in Call of Duty: Black Ops at the first ever Call of Duty Major League Gaming event at MLG Dallas 2011. Parasite went with a seemingly unknown team, Ground Zero, and placed 4th overall at the event. Parasite would then join apeX Collapse for the remainder of the season, placing 2nd at MLG Raleigh 2011 and fourth at MLG National Championship 2011 in Providence.
Modern Warfare 3[]
Chris remained on apeX Collapse going into the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Season, along with Dedo, LyaR, and NAMELESS. Here, he continued to excel, placing 1st at the UMG Championships and at Insomnia 46. From there, he joined Team EnVyUs, placing 3rd at EGL 8.
Black Ops 2[]
Parasite continued his success into Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, where he is most known for being the captain of Fariko Impact, teaming with Karma, MiRx, and KiLLa. Along with Parasites' strong anchoring skills, Impact and their deadly hardpoint game went on to win four straight major events in a row including MLG Winter Championship, EGL 9, Call of Duty Championship 2013, and UMG St. Louis 2013. Later, he teamed with MBoZe, NAMELESS, and Ricky on UNiTE Gaming, where they handed the juggernaut compLexity Gaming their only loss (with money on the line) at the MLG PAX Prime Invitational. Parasite finished out Black Ops 2 on this team, finishing 8th and 3rd at their last two tournaments.
Ghosts[]
Going into Call of Duty:Ghosts, Parasite, along with NAMELESS, MiRx, and StaiNViLLe, played under Team Curse to form Curse LV. The team took off to a rocky start, finishing 10th at MLG Fall Championship 2013. The teams only 1st place finish came in the online Call of Duty Winter Invitational, but they did manage two 3rd place finishes along the way. For a short time, Parasite joined OpTic Gaming, before returning to Team Curse, along with Ricky. To the surprise of many, Curse LV, consisting of 3 out of 4 players from the championship team from Black Ops 2, failed to qualify for the Call of Duty Championship 2014. Eventually, Parasite left Team Curse, briefly joining FaZe Black, before settling down with Team EnVyUs. Here, he joined NAMELESS, MerK, and StuDyy, taking the spot of Rambo. He found some success with the team, finishing 2nd at UGC Niagara 2014 and 4th at the MLG X Games Invitational 2014. Before the start of the Season 3 online league, Parasite was released from Team EnVyUs, and decided to team with Censor, Dedo, and Apathy on FaZe Clan. After swapping Dedo with Karma in an exchange with Evil Geniuses, he (along with FaZe Clan) took a first place finish at UMG Nashville 2014.
Advanced Warfare[]
Shortly following the release of Advanced Warfare, Parasite joined Prophecy NA alongside Ricky, Legal, and FEARS. This roster managed relative success, placing 3rd at MLG Columbus 2014, however only placed 9th-16th at UMG Orlando 2015. On January 21, 2015, Parasite tweeted that he had been traded from Prophecy NA to FaZe Clan to join the roster of ACHES, Slasher, and Enable for the remainder of Season 1 of the MLG Pro League. This roster managed the 4th seed going into Season 1 Playoffs, where they placed 4th, losing 3-1 versus Aware Gaming.NA in the winners bracket and falling short against Denial in the losers bracket, again losing 3-1.
This squad competed under FaZe Red for the 2015 Call of Duty Championship, finishing 3rd place, only dropping two series: one in the winners bracket and one in the losers bracket, both against the surprise Team Revenge roster. Following the tournament, he joined Team Kaliber, teaming with Sharp, Goonjar, and NAMELESS to take 1st place at UGC Niagara 2015. This roster fell to a disappointing 9th-16th finish at UMG California 2015 and a 4th place finish at MLG Season 2 Playoffs. After placing 2nd with a pickup team for the MES Detroit 20k, Parasite moved on to join Enigma6 Group, teaming with General, MRuiz, and Proofy. However, this lineup didn't last long, as Parasite left the team following a 13th-16th placing at UMG Dallas 2015.
On August 4th, 2015, Parasite announced that he joined Epsilon eSports.NA to team with the roster of Remy, Royalty, and Nagafen. This squad went on to take 7th place at the end of Season 3 of the MLG Pro League and a 13th-16th finish at UMG Washington DC 2015. At Season 3 Playoffs, they fell 4-3 versus OpTic Gaming in the winners bracket finals, before being reverse swept by FaZe Clan in the losers bracket final, taking 3rd place. Epsilon eSports.NA competed at the MLG World Finals, with Aqua in place of Royalty. They had a rough start, exiting pool play with a 1-3 record, sending them to the losers bracket. They began a losers bracket run, taking out Enigma6 Group, Team Kaliber, and OpTic Nation, but fell to Team JusTus in Game 5, giving them a 7th-8th place finish.
Black Ops 3[]
Parasite joined compLexity Gaming to play under their first roster in their return to Call of Duty, to team with MiRx, Ricky, and NAMELESS. The squad were invited to compete at the Totino's Invitational, where they took 3rd-4th place, taking out Team EnVyUs but falling to OpTic Gaming. Then invited to the 2016 NA CWL Stage 1 Pro Division Qualifying Invitational Tournament, they would qualify for 2016 NA CWL Stage 1 Regular Season. At UMG South Carolina 2016, they placed disappointing 9th-16th place finish. The compLexity squad placed 6th in Stage 1, with a 10-12 record. At Stage 1 Playoffs, they placed poorly again in 5th-8th after losing 4-0 to FaZe Clan.
Following Stage 1 Playoffs, compLexity Gaming dropped Parasite in favor of Goonjar. This new roster was similarly short lived, as NAMELESS went over to Luminosity Gaming, bringing Parasite back onto compLexity. At MLG Anaheim Open 2016, they fell into the losers bracket after an 0-3 record in their pool. They beat out In2ition and H2k-Gaming, however lost to Cloud9 for a 9th-12th finish. This roster ran into more trouble, as they took 10th place throughout Stage 2 of the Call of Duty World League, failing to qualify for Stage 2 Playoffs. Parasite (along with MiRx) left compLexity Gaming to join the newly formed Kingsmen, joining Llama and Maux to compete at MLG Orlando Open 2016. This roster qualified for pool play through the open bracket, however were sent down to the losers bracket after another 0-3 pool play record. In Round 1 of the losers bracket, they lost 3-1 against SetToDestroyX, placing 17th-20th.
Parasite rejoined compLexity Gaming (as part of the compLexity-Cloud9 trade) for the 2016 Call of Duty World League Championship, completing a brand new roster consisting of Parasite, Llama, Swarley, and Havok. This roster initially found much more success, finishing pool play with a 3-0 record and going into the winners bracket undefeated. However, they fell 3-2 to the brand new Cloud9 roster, sending them into the losers bracket against Team Kaliber, where they again lost 3-2, eliminating them from the tournament, and placing them at 13th-16th
Infinite Warfare[]
Parasite stayed with compLexity following the release of Infinite Warfare. Havok had left the roster to play for the returning eSports juggernaut, Evil Geniuses. With one open spot on the roster, Parasite, Llama, and Swarley picked up Xotic to compete at MLG Las Vegas 2016, qualifying through the Online Qualifier. This roster exited pool play with a 0-3 record, sending them into the losers bracket. They faced off against Rogue in the first round, taking them down 3-0. They went on to face OpTic Gaming, where they were swept 3-0, placing coL at 13th-16th.
Following Vegas, compLexity Gaming dropped their roster and exited the Call of Duty scene for the second time. Parasite and crew (with Pacman replacing Xotic) joined Red Reserve NA, a Call of Duty sniping team formerly associated with FaZe Clan. However, on February 3, 2017, one week before MLG Atlanta 2017, Parasite tweeted that their roster would no longer be affiliated with Red Reserve NA after Atlanta, later stating the organization wanted a guaranteed spot for the upcoming LAN League, implying that the organization didn’t feel their roster was capable. At MLG Atlanta 2017 the roster would have to go through the open bracket, where they failed to qualify for pool play or the championship bracket, losing to Renegades and GosuCrew Blue, placing them at 25th-28th, one of Parasite’s worst placings in his career. After being released from Red Reserve NA, Parasite and the rest of the team attended CWL Paris under an organisation of their own creating, Livin' the Dream. They again placed poorly, finishing 21-24th. For CWL Dallas, Parasite, along with Whea7s, Legal and Ivy represented XtroVert eSports, a team who had just formed for the Infinite Warfare Season, and had just released their previous squad. Parasite under the new organisation didn't manage any better at Dallas however, failing to make it out of Open Bracket after a tough run of matches against other Pro teams also playing through open, losing to Team Kaliber and Evil Geniuses.
