Defenses

Some sports (e.g. boxing and chess) have world championions by succession. With that applied to Call of Duty, an unofficial 'World Champion' can be determined. This list begins with the first Call of Duty Championship winner, Fariko Impact. The title can only be claimed by another team by defeating the current title holder at a major offline event or major online event (2020 COVID Pandemic). If a team disbands, the title is given to the previous holder.

At the end of the 2019 season the Unofficial World Champion was transferred to Atlanta FaZe as the largest number of previous holder eUnited's players were on the Atlanta FaZe roster at the beginning of the year (aBeZy and Simp).
